Tulsi has a rich history in Ayurveda, in the ancient Vedic Bhagavata Purana text it is noted as the “Queen of Herbs,” and the embodiment of Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance and nature. Tulsi is viewed as a living gateway between heaven and earth. It is devotionally regarded as the manifestation of the Divine Mother within the plant kingdom.
Its adaptogen qualities support the whole body, boosting overall health and wellbeing. It has been used to regenerate and strengthen the whole body, as a nervine, it assists the body in reducing tension and stress. It has also been traditionally used for colds, flu, and lung congestion.
Energetically I find tulsi to be very uplifting, assisting us in finding our connection with the Divine. Tulsi opens the heart-mind encouraging a devotional state of being.
